Description

Departure as in the past from J D Saddington Park parking lot at 7 pm sharp. Arrive early to register and complete a waiver. This ride will be easterly along the Great Canadian Trail to Jack Darling Park and return. Notification within three hours or earlier for weather related cancellations. 2022 scheduled rides will be every second Thursday to September 29th, 2022. We will also plan some Saturday rides which may include a Stone Hooker brewery stop over.

Since 2018, Bert’s Sport Excellence of 1211 Hurontario Street Mississauga, ON L5G 905-278-4780 has been our main sponsor providing pre ride clinic bike minor tune-ups, custom T-shirts and prizes. We are most appreciative of their fifth year commitment to our cycling in Port Credit.

Bert’s is offering a 10% discount on all bike tune-ups. Bring your bike in for their experienced bike mechanic Doug to prepare your bike for the cycling season.

Upon the return to J D Saddington Park, there will be raffle prizes as follows: 
Doughboys Pizza and Chicken have provided Five Draw Prizes of $10.00 vouchers to be applied to any pizza or chicken purchase.

Ongoing actions by  Orchard Heights NIMBYs  to block the 2018 approved and 2019 scheduled Orchard Heights Park Foot/Bike Bridge from being built include censoring related information posted to the OHHA Facebook Group pages and vandalizing information flyers posted in local public places like Ron Searle Park and Orchard Heights Park. LAWN RAGE - a Case for Change

In 1996, the Ontario Court of Justice ruled municipal Tall Grass and Weeds By-Laws to be void, invalid, unenforceable and in contravention of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms which guarantees Freedom of Expression [Ref. Bell v. Toronto (City)]. Yet, the City of Mississauga Council "deems tall grass and weeds to be a public nuisance" and continues to enforce its Nuisance Weeds and Tall Grass Control By-Law 125-2017 on homeowner private property based solely on "Anonymous Neighbour Complaints". As Canada's 29th "Bee City”, Mississauga’s stated commitment “to support pollinators and their habitats” and advising homeowners that, "By planting pollinator friendly plants in your garden you can help enhance habitat for insects that pollinate wildflowers and food crops", is self-contradictory virtue signaling when the City's Enforcement Division cites homeowners under By-Law 125-2017 for the wildlife-friendly tall grass and weeds growing on
