This website is for residents and individuals of all ages and walks of life with Orchard Heights Community ties to communicate, share and advocate for connected, convenient, comfortable and safe infrastructure in Mississauga for walking, running, biking and rolling.

The purpose is to:

  1. INFORM
    1. Maintain an up-to-date chronology in the published SWOT Analysis
    2. Post articles relevant to the City of Mississauga Final Cycling Master Plan
    3. Post third-party articles relevant to Active Transportation Infrastructure

  2. EDUCATE
    1. Provide links to third-party organizations with history, experience and solutions relevant to Active Transportation Infrastructure
    2. Organize Meetings with City of Mississauga Cycling Committee staff to provide updates and address issues and concerns
    3. Organize Events such as group rides to demonstrate current deficiencies and potential improvements to Active Transportation Infrastructure
  3. ADVOCATE
    1. Provide links to third-party organizations with history, experience and solutions relevant to advocating for Active Transportation Infrastructure
    2. Organize letter-writing campaign addressed to Mississauga Councillors and Mayor
    3. Involve local Media
    4. Produce and post Audio-Video materials illustrating current deficiencies and potential improvements to Active Transportation Infrastructure

DECEIT BY OMISSION? - OH Park Bridge Documents Raise Questions

FOI Documents In Chronological Order Copies of email correspondence with attached documents have been received pursuant to a Freedom Of Information (FOI) request registered with the City of Mississauga in October 2022. Their content gives rise to serious questions in regard to the rationale and validity of the City’s decision to put the 2018-approved-and-funded and 2019-scheduled OH Park Foot-Bike Bridge “ on hold indefinitely and revisited in future ”. Specifically: 1.      The City of Mississauga’s January 25-February 15, 2021 Orchard Heights Park Public Engagement Survey Results , together with  Councillor Dasko’s May-June, 2021 “door knocking survey”  confirmed that a majority of respondents were in favour of the bridge.
