OH Park Foot-Bike Bridge - Mississauga City Council Ward 1 All Candidates Meeting

The Dasko, Gassman & Goss Mississauga City Council Ward 1 All Candidates Meeting at Applewood United Church on October 17th, revealed more information on the status of the long-delayed Orchard Heights Park Foot-Bike Bridge which was originally scheduled for installation in November, 2019. https://youtu.be/GZbaecUFC1k?t=3008 In addressing the issue, Councillor Dasko confirmed that he stopped this 2018 approved, financed and scheduled component of the City of Mississauga’s Cycling Master Plan based on “traffic and security” concerns voiced by Orchard Heights Residents, as reflected in the Orchard Heights Homeowners Association “Survey and Report” of July, 2021. The “traffic” concerns related to the proposed Plan Dixie development and the “security” concerns were posed by pedestrians and cyclists from Alderwood coming across Etobicoke Creek into, and passing through, Orchard Heights, thereby disturbing the “peace and quiet” of the community. The Great Spirit blessed our Lakeview Slow Rollers ( https://www.facebook.com/groups/1195847307627452 ) inaugural Fall Colours Ride today with "Grandfather Sun showering the shores of Lake Ontario with his life-giving golden rays." ... That's according to Philip Cote, a Traditional Wisdom Keeper who told stories of the "Eighth Fire" and performed a traditional Smudging Ceremony for a circle of about 60 people as part of the Eagle Spirits of the Great Waters ( https://eaglespirits.ca ) Drum, Song & Dance gathering held at the Small Arms Inspection Building CreativeHUB 1352 ( https://www.creativehub1352.ca ) ... 🌞 Keep on rollin' on ... 🚴‍♀️🚴🚴‍♂️

FOI Documents In Chronological Order Copies of email correspondence with attached documents have been received pursuant to a Freedom Of Information (FOI) request registered with the City of Mississauga in October 2022. Their content gives rise to serious questions in regard to the rationale and validity of the City’s decision to put the 2018-approved-and-funded and 2019-scheduled OH Park Foot-Bike Bridge “ on hold indefinitely and revisited in future ”. Specifically: 1.      The City of Mississauga’s January 25-February 15, 2021 Orchard Heights Park Public Engagement Survey Results , together with  Councillor Dasko’s May-June, 2021 “door knocking survey”  confirmed that a majority of respondents were in favour of the bridge.
