BIKE THE CREEK



Wonderful, that the Region of Peel together with the Toronto and Region Conservation Authority is promoting "Bike the Creek" along the beautiful Etobicoke Creek Trail which, upon completion, will stretch some 50km from Marie Curtis Park on Lake Ontario to Caledon on the Niagara Escarpment Biosphere !!!

In the meantime, hopefully, the Region of Peel together with the TRCA will use their good offices to convince the City of Mississauga to finally build the 2018 Council approved, financed, planned and originally scheduled for completion in November 2019 Orchard Heights Park Foot-Bike Bridge connecting to the Etobicoke Creek Trail, thereby providing South East Mississauga Lakeview residents of all ages and walks of life the promised Connected, Convenient, Comfortable and Safe Active Transportation options advertised and promoted in the City of Mississauga's 2010-2018 Cycling, Pedestrian and Active Transportation Master Plans ...

It is a travesty that tax-paying Mississauga-Lakeview residents for years have been deprived of this key Quality of Life amenity on account of a minority of Orchard Heights Community Bike-Bridge Nimbys who somehow convinced Ward 1 Councillor, Stephen Dasko, to ignore at least TWO surveys of Orchard Heights Residents showing a majority of respondents in favour of the Bridge, and to abide instead by the suspect "majority" results of a THIRD sham survey orchestrated by Bike-Bridge Nimby Board Members of the Orchard Heights Homeowners Association, and to STOP the bridge construction indefinitely ... 🤔🧐🤨😳

DECEIT BY OMISSION? - OH Park Bridge Documents Raise Questions

FOI Documents In Chronological Order Copies of email correspondence with attached documents have been received pursuant to a Freedom Of Information (FOI) request registered with the City of Mississauga in October 2022. Their content gives rise to serious questions in regard to the rationale and validity of the City’s decision to put the 2018-approved-and-funded and 2019-scheduled OH Park Foot-Bike Bridge “ on hold indefinitely and revisited in future ”.
